Research and creation of resources based on the Holocaust for the Moving Here website on behalf of The Jewish Museum/National Archives (2005-2007)
In October 2005 The Jewish Museum London commissioned Sara to create online resources for the National Archives’ Moving Here website (http://www.movinghere.org.uk). The HLF-funded site explores and illustrates the experiences of people who came to England over the last 200 years.
Sara created downloadable activity sheets, online interactive activities, lesson outlines and teacher notes based around the Key Stage 3 QCA history unit: How and why did the Holocaust happen? As well as interpreting this highly emotive subject via a meaningful and engaging historical approach the resources also explore citizenship, literacy and ICT themes.
Sara’s work involved a comprehensive audit to identify suitable sources from the database of 200,000 original documents and uploading the text and images through the project CMS.
Sara’s work is thorough and well-written and she has a good sense of what will work for online and digital resources. She is also committed to working on a project until it meets with the complete approval of all stakeholders. I would heartily recommend her as an author, researcher, and online education specialist.
